Hakkasan Group Celebrates Día De Los Muertos at Vidanta Los Cabos

24 / Sep / 2018

Las Vegas, USA, September 24, 2018: Hakkasan Group, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, today announces special Día de los Muertos celebrations at its Mexican venues located within Vidanta Los Cabos, OMNIA Dayclub Los Cabos and Casa Calavera Los Cabos. The holiday, which takes place between November 1st and 2nd, gathers family and friends to remember the lives of loved ones who have passed away through joyous celebrations.

On Thursday, November 1 and Friday, November 2, Casa Calavera, whose interior design and brand essence was inspired by the Día de los Muertos holiday, will add special altars dedicated to late celebrities and legends including revered DJ and producer Avicii, celebrated chef and documentarian Anthony Bourdain, French chef and restaurateur Joël Robuchon and Mexican pop icon Juan Gabriel. Certain restaurant staff will also be dressed as La Calavera Catrina, the iconic painting of the female skeleton by José Guadalupe Posada that both symbolizes the holiday and serves as the inspiration for the various murals on Casa Calavera’s walls.

To pay homage to the holiday’s themes of family and tradition, Casa Calavera’s Executive Chef Alex Branch has designed a menu of authentic Mexican classics. Featuring shareable bites such as Black shrimp ceviche with local shrimp, tacos such as Daily catch al pastor with roasted pineapples and greens and delicious desserts such as churros with chocolate and cajeta, a traditional Mexican syrup made from sweetened goat’s milk, the family-style menu will bring loved ones together for an intoxicating feast as they bond over bottomless margaritas and palomas, unlimited beers and live mariachi performances.

On Friday, November 2, OMNIA Dayclub presents Hector, one of Mexico’s most notable musical powerhouses, as the headlining artist for its Día de los Muertos pool party for its weekly “Feel Good Fridays” series. Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Hector has been producing music since the age of 16 and is also known as the founder of a DJ collective named Vatos Locos. A regular player in the international DJ circuit, Hector will return home to Mexico and spin his signature techno and house beats for the dayclub. To enhance the festive atmosphere, the dayclub will also be elaborately embellished for the holiday. Calaveras, or Mexican sugar skulls, will decorate the venue’s daybeds, cabanas and villas, while staff will be dressed in the holiday’s traditional wardrobe.
