Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit, September 17th, 2019. True to its mission of improving children’s lives in a meaningful and dynamic way, the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation celebrates today, September 17th, the 6th anniversary of its Educational Center, which offers extracurricular activities that encourage the development of skills and prepare children for a better future in which they have equal opportunities.

Founded in 1988 with the support of Grupo Vidanta—the leading developer of resorts and tourism infrastructure in Mexico and Latin America—the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation, among many other initiatives, has offered services and extracurricular programs to underprivileged children in Riviera Nayarit through its Delia Morán Educational Center, whose main objective is to create an environment in which children have the necessary support to reach their maximum potential, with diverse academic, artistic, and athletic activities that improve the integral development of each student.

“Over six years, the Delia Morán Educational Center, through its magnificent facilities and extraordinary programs, has positively impacted the lives of more than 800 children in Riviera Nayarit, as well as nearby communities. Currently, we are focused on four main lines of development: knowledge, arts, sports, and training, to provide children with new skills and to prepare them for a better future, in which they can have equal opportunities,” said Isabel Arana, director of the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation.

The academic programs at the Delia Morán Educational Center are designed for kids between the ages of 6 to 12 years old. This is a time period in which they experience significant changes in their interests, personality, and their understanding of the world; this is the phase in which children develop the cognitive and social skills that they maintain during adulthood. Therefore, some of their classes include: English, technology, entrepreneurship, and values, among many others.

Additionally, workshops for students´ parents are offered—guaranteeing quality education and support at home for each student with topics such as parenting methods, effective communication, and nutrition, with the aim of providing more beneficial tools that ensure healthy families.

The Delia Morán Educational Center offers unique facilities where children are able to explore different disciplines in their spare time such as: the cultural corner, where they can read or learn how to play an instrument; the garden, which promotes their knowledge of sustainability and increases respect for the environment; or the meditation space, which offers them an alternative way to find self-control.

Providing all the necessary services for children to develop their full potential, including medical services and transportation, the Delia Morán Educational Center is committed to its students even after their graduation. “We are very proud to share that so far, we have almost 100 graduates who completed the 4-year program. We have created reunion sessions for them, which are a wonderful way to keep in touch and closely follow their development,” said Arana.
