Social Responsibility: an Important Pillar in Grupo Vidanta’s Mission

Mexico City, February 19th, 2019—Grupo Vidanta, the leading developer of resorts and tourist infrastructures in Mexico and Latin America, has always believed in creating experiences that honor and respect the natural beauty of Mexico. Because of this, the values ​​of sustainability and conservation have been incorporated into their approach from the beginning. Thanks to their work in these fields, and other socially responsible strategies, Grupo Vidanta received this year, for the first time ever, the Socially Responsible Company Distinctive, granted by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI)

Over the years, Grupo Vidanta has cemented these values ​​with strict policies and protocols around development and construction, to ensure the protection and conservation of the environment, as well as the best outcome for the communities and people living in these resort destinations.

Grupo Vidanta has designed a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, based on the internationally accepted pillars of ISO 26000. The company not only considers its people and their quality of life, but their relationship with the community and the environment, and this promotes fair business practices throughout a value chain. This strategy is strengthened by Grupo Vidanta’s CSR, social investment, and environmental policies.

Therefore, from being a part of the Great Place to Work® Mexico list for seven consecutive years, or being awarded gold and platinum level certifications by EarthCheck; to the creation of non-profit organizations such as the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation in 1988—which helps to promote education and child development in the Bay of Banderas and Puerto Vallarta; and the Vidanta Foundation in 2005—an institution that promotes the social sciences and culture in Latin America, disseminates human and democratic values, and supports initiatives that help to reduce poverty and inequality; Grupo Vidanta has built all facets of its business with the highest integrity, always committed to the protection and promotion of Mexico and its people.

The Socially Responsible Company Distinctive, according to the CEMEFI, "Accredits companies that voluntarily and publicly assume the commitment of implementation and continuous improvement of a socially responsible management, as part of their culture and business strategy. Reflecting said commitment in its policies, strategies and programs, integrally considering all areas and levels of action of the company.”
