Bay of Banderas, Nayarit, September 10th, 2018 - Continuing its mission to enrich the lives of children in a significant way, the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation will celebrate the 5th anniversary of its Educational Center on September 17th. Theses state-of-the-art facilities combine a basic academic curriculum with valuable extracurricular activities in order to give students the skills and knowledge to open the door for a future filled with opportunity.
Founded in 1988 with the support of Grupo Vidanta, the leading developer of resorts and tourist infrastructures in Mexico and Latin America, the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation has provided services and extracurricular programs to low-income girls and boys living in the Riviera Nayarit area through its Delia Morán Educational Center. The foundation remains faithful to its goal to offer an environment in which children have the necessary support to reach their true potential with a series of academic, artistic and sports activities that encourages their inpidual development.
"In 2013, the Delia Morán Educational Center was inaugurated and over the past five years, its cutting edge facilities and extraordinary programs have allowed us to have a positive impact on the lives of more than 600 children from the Riviera Nayarit region and surrounding communities. There is nothing more rewarding than to help our country’s youth through educational growth and opportunity,” said Naitzé García, Academic Coordinator of the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation.
The academic programs of the Delia Morán Educational Center are designed for children between 6 and 12 years, the developmental stage in which they experience significant changes in their interests, personalities and their understanding of the world. During this period, they develop key cognitive and social skills that will be required throughout their adult life. Some of the classes that are taught include English, technology and computing, creative thinking and emotional intelligence, in addition to many others .
Simultaneously, they also offer sports programs to help teach motor skills and socialization, as well as art programs, which allow students to express their inner selves while learning to create and appreciate. The classes taught range from swimming, soccer or tennis, to theater, music, and dancing.
Believing that it is important to provide educational and developmental support beyond the classroom, the Delia Morán Educational Center offers all the necessary services for children to realize their full potential: educational support, nutritional advice and workshops for parents, as well as medical services.
"At the Delia Morán Educational Center, we have not only approached children, we have gone much further by organizing activities in which we involve parents, thus impacting almost 2,000 families in these five years. We firmly believe that the family is one of the most important axes to achieve the success of our programs,” concludes Garcia.
