September 7th, 2018, Mexico City. For third consecutive year, Travel + Leisure, an international giant in travel and tourism publishing with over 45 years of experience, recognized Grupo Vidanta Group, the leading resort and tourism infrastructure developer in Mexico and Latin America. Travel + Leisure México awarded Vidanta Los Cabos as a winner in the Best Party category, while Vidanta Riviera Maya was honored in the Gourmet Experience
Because of the skyrocketing popularity of Mexico as a tourist destination and increased competition within the country’s hospitality and tourism industries, more and more brands are seeking to highlight the natural beauty, culture, and unique heritage of Mexico as attractions for international travelers. It is that commitment to honoring the nation’s roots while promoting the country on a national stage that Travel + Leisure México seeks to recognize with its 2018 Hotel Awards. This year’s awards had 26 categories that ranged from spa experiences, culinary and entertainment experiences, to design and sustainability. Each and every one of them represent the exceptional standards that a top-level hotel must meet.
Vidanta Los Cabos was a selected as a winner in the Best Party category for its unsurpassed, truly one-of-a-kind entertainment offerings in collaboration with Hakkasan Group, resulting from the constant need to improve and evolve the vacation experiences that has always distinguished Grupo Vidanta. Vidanta Los Cabos has become an iconic place that attracts numerous local and international visitors with its irresistible mix of high-end music, dining, lounging, and fun. Through such unparalleled offerings as OMNIA Dayclub, which is proud to host the world’s best DJs weekly, Herringbone Restaurant, SHOREbar and Casa Calavera, Vidanta Los Cabos offers an innovative entertainment setting like no other in the entire country.
The magazine also recognized Vidanta Riviera Maya as the best Culinary Experience in Mexico thanks to its unrivaled selection of gourmet dining and lounge experiences. Notable additions to the resort’s culinary scene include Salum, the recently opened beachside village with eight different restaurants. But undoubtedly one of the resort’s most defining experiences is Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ, the unique multisensory show and Cirque’s only production offering a dining element. As developed by Vidanta Corporate Chef Alexis Bolstelmann, the menu of JOYÀ is one of the most thrilling culinary offerings in the world. In addition to world-class dining options, Vidanta Riviera Maya is proud to offer over 1000 acres of impeccable swimming pools, magnificent beaches, a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, luxury spa services and the best entertainment in Mexico.
In order to judge these prestigious awards, the Travel + Leisure team assembled 26 experts who were given the task of traveling around 20 cities to sample and evaluate the different hospitality offerings, nominating finalists for each category. After an exhaustive deliberation process, results were announced last August. The award ambassadors include Danielle Clyde, TV host and urban architect; Patty Cascar, designer and creative director of The Golden Sparks blog; Ricardo Korkowski, renowned actor and model; and Luciana Moreno, model and blogger.
